The Tauheedul Eden Boys’ School at Bolton is a new Muslim faith based secondary school for 11 to 18-year-olds. The Tauheedul Trust is a progressive education provider originally established in the north-west but now providing both primary and secondary schools across the UK. Their presence is well established in the North Manchester region and this school in Bolton provides for 700 pupils.
Hulley & Kirkwood were instructed by the M&E sub-contractor, EIC Ltd, to produce a full 3D BIM Level 2 M&E design delivering an eco-friendly, three storey building, which replaced the temporary accommodation previously in use at Cotton Street.
The building incorporates two Tauheedul specialisms, including STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and their ‘big society’ ethos which includes community service, charity and volunteering to help bring communities together.
The facility includes science laboratories, a sports hall, D&T workshops and ICT in addition to general classrooms.
