The Bellrock Close project provides support and accommodation for Veterans in Glasgow and the West of Scotland.  The development consists of 51 new-build flats of which 21 are mainstream and 30 are supported flats.  The complex also includes facilities for training, education and employment and resources to support Veterans and keep them motivated.

Hulley & Kirkwood provided the M&E design for the supported accommodation block providing 30 short-stay one-bed flats for Veterans, including common rooms, gymnasium, training facilities, offices, IT and health resources, training kitchen, café and kitchen garden.

Hulley & Kirkwood worked closely with Mast Architects and Scottish Veteran's Housing Association to develop the design for the building to ensure the end product meets the specific requirements of the end users and staff.

M&E Services provided within the supported accommodation block include;

• Underfloor heating system with simple user friendly controls.

• Whole house heat recovery in apartments.

• Compliance with SAP and Building Regulations Section 6.

• High efficiency gas fired condensing boiler plant.

• Combined heat and power system.

• Domestic sprinkler installation. 

• Full user friendly access control security system.

• CCTV coverage.

• High efficiency lighting design including automated lighting controls.

• Personal infra-red staff attack system.
