The development consists of 49 new houses including 3 and 4 bedroom semi-detached houses, 2 bedroom terraced houses, and 1 accessible detached bungalow, along with 24 flats including 1 and 2 bedroom flats and an accessible flat.
This project employs a net zero carbon approach, providing sustainable housing for the residents of Dundee. All the homes will come with solar panels, heat pumps and triple glazing and the rented house units will also benefit from battery electricity storage.
Hulley & Kirkwood provided Energy & Sustainability advice, infrastructure design and MEP design on this residential development.
The H&K team included domestic energy assessors who are experts in energy regulations and contributed to the industry consultation regarding the SAP 10 update and associated revision to Section 6 Energy. We have developed innovative solutions against the update of SAP software to help future proof compliance pathways for projects that transition across regulation change.
H&K are also Certified Passive House Designers. Our cross-discipline knowledge gives us a useful skill set, in that we can make meaningful contributions to the design of the building form, fabric and structure as well as the M&E Services with a view to ensuring that the development is low energy and low carbon.
