Hulley & Kirkwood were engaged on the Queens Quay project by G3 Engineers to provide MEP design services for the Wheatley Group client.
The Queens Quay development is located in Clydebank and the masterplan is one of Scotland’s largest infrastructure projects consisting of a mixture of residential, commercial and educational districts. The flagship energy centre powered by an ammonia based water sourced heat pump, located next to Queens Basin on the Clyde, extracts heat energy from the river and serves the district heat network.
The Wheatley Group’s section of the development comprises a 7 storey block providing 117 apartments for Cube and Clydebank Housing Associations with 4 commercial units, and a further 29 apartments for West Dunbartonshire Council housing.
Each apartment is provided with a heat interface unit, inclusive of heat meter, which delivers each individual dwelling heating via radiators, and instantaneous hot water.
