We're thrilled to announce that our project, the Larkstone Watersports Hub - Ilfracombe, commissioned by North Devon Council has been shortlisted for not just one, but two prestigious awards!
It's been an incredible journey working on this project as part of the exceptional team, alongside our esteemed partners W T Hills Ltd as project managers, Grainge Architects Ltd and Craddys for civil and structural work. Special thanks to Pearce Construction (Barnstaple) Ltd for their exceptional work as main contractors.
From navigating detailed coordination to overcoming tight site constraints and utility challenges, the design process was nothing short of exhilarating. The proximity to the harbour and marine environment posed unique challenges, but we embraced them wholeheartedly, ensuring our design was both sympathetic to the local surroundings and beneficial to all stakeholders.
Collaboration was key throughout the process, and it was truly rewarding to work alongside the design team and Pearce Construction (Barnstaple) Ltd , engaging in dynamic problem-solving every step of the way. We're particularly proud of the experience it provided for our junior engineers, fostering growth and learning in a real-world setting.
The Ilfracombe Watersports Hub isn't just a building; it's a beacon of community engagement and outdoor adventure. From providing a new home for local water sports clubs to offering taster events for residents and visitors alike, this facility is set to become a cornerstone of recreational activity in the area.
Moreover, the hub isn't just for club members; it's a resource for the entire community. With the inviting ambiance of the Lime Kiln Café & Bar, everyone can experience the magic of the waterfront while enjoying unparalleled views of the harbour and Damien Hirst's iconic sculpture "Verity."
Join us in celebrating this exciting recognition as the Watersports Hub has been shortlisted for the following awards:
